Do you give 50% downpayment to engage a reno firm? Can we give after they finish certain job? Asking because many news of contractor running off with couple money and that is putting me off. Quite scare literally :(

Go for case trust company. At least got insurance. Sadly downpayment is necessary. Can try nego to 30% first ;)
